How does lower calories help you to lose weight? Let’s start with knowing that one pound of fat contains 3500 calories. If you want to lose one pound a week, for example, then you need cut your current diet approximately 500 calories a day. You can cut 500 calories or you could add an exercise or activity that burns more calories than  whatever you do currently. If you do that, theoretically, you should lose one pound every week.

 

I say theoretically because there are other factors involved. It does matter what types of foods you eat, what combinations and the exercise plan you have. Your age, gender, lifestyle habits and health status play a part. You can work off the basic premise of lower calories help you to lose weight, but it will be more effective if you take into account other factors that may play a part.

When we are constantly under stress, we also tend to eat more comfort type foods that generally are high calorie and low nutritional value foods. Belly fat caused by excessive cortisol can be difficult to get rid of if you don’t come up with a more healthy and effective stress management plan.

2. Sleep quality and quantity: When we consistently don’t get enough sleep, this causes hormone issues that can contribute to weight gain, but also cause fatigue, which tends to make us eat more during the day in the attempt to perk us up. Often choosing the wrong types of foods, those void of good nutritional value.

3. Nutrition level: Good daily cellular nutrition is critical. If your body cells do not get what they need to perform at their highest level, then health can suffer and often weight gain happens. If your cells don’t get what they need, a signal goes out that triggers you to eat. We often misread this signal or just stop it by grabbing a quick snack. If that snack doesn’t have what the cell needs, the signal goes out again and the cycle repeats. Getting adequate nutrition is a major key to effective weight management.

Yes, Lower Calories To Help You Lose Weight, But Don’t Neglect The Other Factors

 

We all know we can’t lose weight by eating a high calorie diet, but it is also possible not to lose weight on a low calorie diet if we don’t look at our whole picture. One could argue that there are highly effective weight loss programs out there that could help you to lose weight on its program alone, but unless you address your daily life pattern, reoccurring weight gain is highly likely. That is certainly worth avoiding.
